Statement From A.G. Schneiderman On Administration's Decision That "defense Of Marriage Act" Is Unconstitutional

“As the state's top law enforcement officer, I agree with the Administration's view that the so-called Defense of Marriage Act is unconstitutional. Today's announcement that the Justice Department will drop its defense of this statute moves us closer to fulfilling the principle that all Americans should be treated equally under the law.”
