Statement From A.G. Schneiderman Regarding The Shooting Outside The Empire State Building

NEW YORK– The following statement can be attributed to Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman regarding the shooting of nine people outside of the Empire State Building this morning:

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims of today’s tragic shootings and their families. For those of us in government, and in law enforcement, the news of yet another mass shooting so close on the heels of the massacres at the Sikh temple in Wisconsin, and in Aurora, Colorado, should make it crystal clear that our current laws have failed to protect the public from gun violence. We must redouble our efforts to protect public safety so that New Yorkers don’t have to live in fear of the next deadly attack.”
