Statement From Attorney General Andrew Cuomo On State Comptroller's Decision To Ban Pay To Play At State Pension Fund
"I am pleased that the State's Common Retirement Fund has adopted the campaign contribution ban from the Code of Conduct we developed in our pension fund investigation. The State Comptroller’s action today means our pay-to-play reforms will now govern the pension fund for the state, as well as those of New York City, and the New York State Teachers pension fund. We will not cease in our efforts to promote needed reforms like banning the use of placement agents and eliminating campaign contributions to those who make or influence pension fund investment decisions. My hope is that our Code of Conduct will become a model for reform and today's action is yet another step in that direction."
