“The EPA’s denial of California’s request is filled with twisted logic in its outrageous attempt to deny states the right to fight global warming pollution. There is simply no environmental threat more ‘compelling’ or ‘extraordinary’ than the threat of climate change. The EPA is clearly doing the Bush administration’s bidding by intentionally - and illegally - obstructing states’ rights to combat climate change. I will continue to lead a seventeen-state coalition joining California’s lawsuit against the EPA to overturn this irresponsible decision.”
